Reasons for a washing machine not starting
1. Power supply and outlet problems
Check that the power plug is secure and the outlet is functioning properly. If the power cord is broken or worn, replace it immediately.
Some models may experience a complete power failure due to a power board malfunction, resulting in no response.
2. Door lock or door lock sensor malfunction
If the washing machine door is not fully closed or the door lock sensor is malfunctioning, the system will automatically prevent the machine from starting for safety reasons.
If the door lock is damaged, the control board may not detect a closure signal even when the door is closed, causing the start button to be unresponsive.
3. Control panel or computer board malfunction
Failed control panel buttons, poor wiring, or burned-out components within the computer board can prevent the machine from receiving start commands.
Error codes (such as E4 or E2) in the electronic control system often indicate a malfunction with the board or sensor, requiring professional inspection.
4. Water level sensor and water inlet system malfunction
If the water level switch is malfunctioning or the water inlet valve is not open, the machine will remain in a waiting state when it cannot detect the appropriate water level, resulting in a failure to start. A clogged water inlet pipe or a stuck valve can also cause the machine to only fill with water but not rotate. Check and clean the water inlet system.
How can I adjust a noisy washing machine?
1. Check and adjust the balance.
Use a level to ensure the machine is placed on a flat surface. If necessary, adjust the bottom feet so that all four corners are at the same height.
If the surface is uneven, install anti-vibration pads or adjust the feet to reduce overall vibration.
2. Check the shock-absorbing rod (suspender rod) and spring.
Aging, loosening, or breaking the suspension rod is the main cause of banging noise. Replace or add damping grease.
For pulsator models, an unbalanced suspension rod can cause the inner drum to hit the outer casing during high-speed spin cycles. Promptly replacing or reinforcing the rod can eliminate the noise.
3. Load the clothes evenly and avoid overloading.
Uneven distribution of clothes can cause the inner drum to shift, resulting in strong vibration and banging noises. Manually adjusting the position of clothes before each wash is recommended.
Underloading or overloading can affect balance. Proper loading is essential for reducing noise. 4. Check key internal components
Worn bearings, dry shock absorbers, or overtightened belts can cause abnormal noises. Lubricate or replace damaged components as necessary.
A clutch that is not fully disengaged or loose drive shaft screws can also cause knocking noises. Check and tighten the relevant screws.
